That's a wrap! 11 days of adventure have come to an end, and it has been an absolute blast. This group of Grade 8s embraced every moment, tackled every challenge that came their way, and are leaving with more memories than they ever could have imagined.
From long travel days and sleeping on the beach to riding horses and competing in an aquathon, they did it all. They hiked up to ancient castles, explored the famous caves mentioned in the Iliad and more recently inhabited by Matt Damon, ran down sand dunes into an omega-shaped bay, snorkeled, and took boat tours. They even enjoyed some well-deserved playtime roaming the olive groves and discovering the secret beach at the Vincent Villa. The athletic feats were just as unforgettable. They channelled their inner ancient Greeks by running in the ancient Olympic stadium to learn the true historical starting positions, raced up all 913 stairs to the Palamidi Fortress in Nafplio, and capped it all off at the Acropolis and modern Olympic stadium in Athens.
An adventure like this only happens when you have an absolute dream team behind it! A massive shoutout goes to our teachers, Ms. Cade, Ms. Sask, and Mr. Doland, for guiding the crew every single step of the way. We also owe a huge thank you to our wonderful Greek locals, Yannis and the Woodgates, alongside the incredible Vincent family, Marc, Clare, Owen, and Matthew. The Vincents are our long-time experts who have been a part of this ultimate trip since way back in 2014, and together with our local hosts, they made us feel like family throughout the entire journey.
