DAY 4 - Horseback Riding, Duathalon, Pool Party, NOKY Swim
DATE: Thursday, June 25 (Day 4): Horse Riding, Aquathon with NOKY, and Vincent Pool party!
NOTES: What a way to start the day! We woke up on Vounaki beach to a beautiful sunrise. A few people wandered down the beach to investigate any new turtle activity and were rewarded with a glimpse of a loggerhead turtle on her way back to the sea after making her nest. Shortly afterwards, the Woodgates (Patrick and Heidi) arrived with our breakfast - nectarines and delicious pizzas from a local bakery. Once we were nourished and packed up, we headed to our next activity - horseback riding!
The first word we learned was "Oπα" (oh-pah)- horse for stop, and then headed out for a 15-minute meander through the beachside forest. This was our first time including horses in our Greece adventure, and it was a hit!
After a quick shower back at the hotel, we met up with Yannis for an action-packed duathlon/aquathon—kicking off with a 100m ocean dash and wrapping up with a 1km run, followed by a well-deserved lunch and awards in the shade. The aquatic fun didn't stop there; the afternoon brought a lively pool party at the Vincent Villa and a visit to the NOKY pool for a photo by the mural. Everyone showed off their moves during some impressive relay races in the 50m Olympic pool!
To wrap up a very active day, we drew names for our secret bracelet friends and spent the evening deeply focused on some creative bracelet making and beading.
